Commercial Operation Date

On the FIT Program application form, you will have the option to select a number of days by which you wish to shorten your commercial operation date deadline.

  • The number of days by which you shorten your commercial operation date are called commercial operation date acceleration days (COD acceleration days).

Any applicant may accelerate a project's commercial operation date by a maximum of 365 days without being required to meet additional criteria.

If you wish to obtain additional acceleration days, you will be required to submit evidence in support of some or all of the criteria outlined below. Each point will earn you an additional 90 days to accelerate your commercial operation date milestone.

Example

For example, a wind project submitting 365 COD acceleration days would be expected to achieve commercial operation two years after the contract date rather than the standard three years.

The maximum number of commercial operation date (COD) acceleration days that you are allowed to select depends on your criteria score.
