An incremental project is an upgrade or an expansion to an existing or planned project that results in an increase in the nameplate capacity of the existing or planned project.

An incremental project must meet these additional eligibility requirements:

1. it must be owned by the owner of the existing renewable energy project
2. it must use the same technology as the existing renewable energy project
3. it must use the existing renewable energy project's connection and metering
4. the incremental project and the existing generating capacity together must not exceed the nameplate capacity size limits.
